Sunset IDEAS   FOR
EFFECTIVE   LIVING

I know ideas are a dime a dozen
but these have been helpful for me
. . . I want to share them with you.

Ideas are not rules, or things that are true or false. They are tools to cherish or discard at any convenient moment.
Be fickle.

LOVE
All of the people in our life have been attracted with our love or with our fear.
L O V E

We set up rules or conditons for love.   We put our feelings for others into a hierarchical order.   If we can just throw out the conditions, we will love everyone all the time.

If we could love everyone in the world for just one minute, we would love everyone forever.

Dreams follow Motivation
Any idea tends to realize itself unless opposed by other ideas.   You will know when opposing ideas are gone -- results happen.
You have the free choice to move in any direction in the present moment -- you don't have to be unhappy to make that choice.
When you love the present moment,
you move on to greater happiness.
. . .
Bless the Present.

Every time you give power to something
outside of yourself
you are practicing Superstition.

Kalakupua:   Seek the path of power within.
We all have an unexplored world within -- discover it.   It is the source of all your outer experience.   Questions and questing open the doorway.

But remember, the Self is not found, it is created.

Our emotions are not designed to tell us what to do,
they simply tell us what we are experiencing.
Emotion is feeling with memories attached.
Feeling is pure experience,
it is the bridge between mind and body.

An assumption that healers often make:
Something is Wrong with you – I am going to Fix it.
. . .
We have a talent for making up things to block our way.

We don't have a penny more than
what we think we are worth.

Violence comes from a sense of powerlessness.
Anger happens when someone breaks our rules.

What we resist persists.

It is not your obligation to make someone happy.
It is not their obligation to make you happy.
Everyone is responsible for their own happiness.

Control is an illusion.

We fear lack of control.   Instead of trying to control a situation, we simply need to make a choice.   We are afraid of making the wrong decision.

We cannot make a wrong decision.
– Sometimes the effects are unpleasant.   There is no way we can determine what the effects will be.   Habits of thought attract the effects.   Wrong effects come from our fears, not from our decisions.
Make a choice — Trust Yourself, Expect the Best.

What we can't imagine we cannot do.
This is our only limit.

How we interepret our life is up to us --
our experience will reflect those interpretations.

What we imagine, we become.
What we feel, we attract.

We don't Know,
We Assume.
Our assumptions Produce
the Effects
in our life.

A Shaman is someone who doesn't know Anything.
A Shaman Knows he doesn't know anything –
A Shaman is someone who figures out how to
make Use of the fact he doesn't know anything.

Most of the ideas on this page are from notes I have taken while listening to talks by Dr. Serge King.   A few of the ideas are direct quotes by Dr. King.   Some are my own ideas that were inspired by something he said at the time.   Most come from my understanding of his ideas, either directly from my notes or reworded from my notes.   Since the notes span 30 years, I now have no idea which are which.   I have a lot of these notes, so I will be adding to this page from time to time.
